So yesterday first I couldn't shift out of reverse so, because I was docking, I cut the ignition. Got some help and got the boat in my slip. Pulled the engine cover and found the brass barrel on the lower shift cable had fallen out of its proper spot. I have no idea what is supposed to be there to hold it in. Needed the boat functioning for fireworks on the lake so i zip-tied it into place temporarily. Does anyone have a picture that shows the correct retainer for the shift cable barrel?

Great. Thanks guys. Can the cable adjustment shown in Chris' video be performed on the water (with the drive in the trailer position to access the prop)?

sure, but you don't need to access the prop in the water

with the engine running, shift into forward and shut off the engine, now its locked in fwd gear, do your adjustment as if you were on land, re-attach and check the shifting

all final adjustments are done on the water anyways
