My 1994 5.7 4 brl mercruiser, while running on a hot day, when I pull back to an idle, will stall and won't start. After cooling for anywhere from thirty minutes to two hours it will start and run just fine. (It has done it twice in one day). Most of the time it will then run for the rest of the day without problems. On one occasion I was able to get the engine to restart by staying on the starter and pumping the gas. I've checked the carb and it is not flooded. I have change the fuel filter (twice). I've installed a new coil. The fuel vent is not clogged. The boat runs good at top end so I don't believe it is the fuel pump. It does not stall when running above an idle. Any suggestion?

I took it into the shop and they replaced the sensor assembly. I believe my problem is solved.
