1994 14' Sea Rayder Wont go.

I am trying to find out what might be wrong with this thing. First time out max speed 25 MPH. Second time out Max Speed 10 MPH. Now 5 MPH Max. I pulled the wear ring and it looks like there is a little wear and some small dings in the impeller, but there is only .010 - .020 gap. This should not cause this. Any ideas what might? Could something be slipping? Is there a clutch? Sorry for all of the questions, but I am a jet ski guy. Is there a service manual available anywhere?

it is direct drive and the clearance seems ok,, either there is something stuck between the impeller blades causing cavitation or there are stripped splines on the drive shaft or impeller

Could a couple of dings in the impeller cause this? I do not see anything stuck in the blades.

no/ you will need to look between the blades,, it is difficult to do but sometimes things get in where you can't see them from looking in the back, try using a flashlight and looking from in the intake grate under the boat, so you are looking from behind the impeller

I have a fourwinns fling and we had a similar problem. Thought it was the impeller and it ended up being the carbs needed to be adjusted.

mine had weeds sucked in jet intake

does the engine revs freely?

if it revs a lot and don't go. you probably have exausth gases going in the jetpump.

Look at your rideplate gasket. Or it might be the gasket between the engine/jetdrive
