1. Does this machine have a rubber water pump impeller similiar to an I/O boat that will wear out quickly if started out of the water? What can be done to run it on a trailer to make a few adjustment?
2. I'm also having a hard time starting it cold unless I give it a shot of starting fluid. From a few threads I've read it seems like a carb rebuild is in order. Does this seem correct?
3. The kill switch where the lanyard connect is broke. I took the switch housing apart. Can I replace just the switch where the lanyard attaches or do I need to replace the whole stop, start & lanyard switch?
Thanks.

1. no it does not have an impeller, the jet pump shoots the water into the motor,so you can start it out of water, but I wouldn't let it run more than 15 sec or so,because it will get hot quick.

2. Check the choke cable(pull the carb plastic cover and verify when you pull the choke that the butterfly closes all the way.

3. Just buy one off ebay, there cheap.
