Anyone that can give any info:

As in the subject I have a 93 Suzuki. I don't know anything about, nor did the owner, but the engine has only been ran 5 to 6 times, it looks brand new, but I have no idea about the engine. It's oil injected?...That means that I just put straight gas into my can and the engine does the rest?...What kind of oil do I put into the engine?

The own got the boat second hand and didn't use it much, so he didn't have much to say, yet questions didn't start a rising til later about the whole oil injections system...if anyone can shed some life on this engine for me, and if they could tell me whether I have a reliable good engine that wouild help too.

Thanks
Zoo

Hello, Zoo.

Welcome to the board.

I doubt that your engine has oil injection and I am sure it doesn't have fuel injection.

Get yourself an Owners Manual and a Service Manual.

Mix your fuel. 1 pint of TCW-3 rated outboard oil to 6 gallons of 87 octane unleaded gasoline.

Good luck. :)

JB,

Thanks for the response, but no doubt about it's oil injected, it says right on the cover of the motor pretty clear. Now if these engines are exactly what they say then I don't get it. If anyone knows where I can get a manual for this engine that would also be helpful.

Thank U
Zoo

Hi, Zoo.

I misunderstood.

There should be an oil reservior under the bonnet. If not you will need a remote oil tank and pump. Use any good, TCW-3 rated outboard oil.

Click on "Repair Manuals" at the bottom of the page.

Good luck :)

Zoo,

Many of the little Suzuki outboards of that vintage were indeed oil injected.

I would dump the oil out of the tank (reservoir) and refill with a good quality TCW-3 outboard oil.

Use fresh 87 octane fuel and start it up.

Pay close attention to water pump output. There should be a telltale water stream that exits the back of the engine just below the hood.

With a motor of that age with a unknown maintance history I would spend a few dollars and replace the water pump impeller, better to be safe then sorry.

Hi, Do you still need an owner's manual for the '93 9.9 Suzuki? I can probably get you one and send it to you since I am a Suzuki dealer. They are great motors.
