Hello,

My glass broke in storage. I'm looking to get a glass/acrylic fabricated for it, but have no idea how to really measure it and the angles.

Does anyone know if the left and right are the same size ? Or does anyone have the dimensions?
I don't really want to remove the good one, just in case it breaks :)

Thanks

Welcome aboard.

It's flat and rectangular - Take the boat to a glass shop for a piece of tempered glass cut to fit.

If you measure the frame on both sides you'll know if they are the same. It doesn't appear the center is offset.

I'm moving this to another section so more folks will see it and offer advice. Spectrum didn't have special walk-thru windshields made, they are off the shelf and most likely made by TaylorMade.

Consider yourself somewhat lucky. Boat windshields are some of the absolute hardest pieces to replace unless they are flat like yours. There are studs that protrude from the bottom of the windshield and hold it down to the hull. If you can get the nuts off the studs just bring it to any glass shop and have them install tempered glass.

I have seen boats that people will never get replacement windshield for since they were curved and believe it or not 5 years old is considered "old" for repair parts!!

Good Luck

A few years ago on a different boat, I broke the center pass through window. Took it to a glass shop, they measured up and cut a piece of tempered glass. I was in and out in a day and I think it was south of $100.00.

Glass shop should be able to fit a new piece for you like others have mentioned.

Something else you may need to do either before the glass is installed or after is relocate the entire glass frames for both sides forward or backwards redrill the mounting holes and make it all tighten up. What’s happened is the holes are hogged out or maybe there just loose if there loose tighten them up if there hogged out just move it about 1/2”. It’s also possible the floor or consoles wood is failing and its all shifted. In which case you need to get enough support that the windshield frame isn’t moving around to much. One thing to be aware of is the boats hull flexes in and out and it will have a tighter or less of a spread in the water than on your trailer leave enough room for it to shrink up after a bit of run time on the water.

Thanks all. I took the boat in this morning to glass shop and they did up a template. Should be less than $100. Thanks for the advice.
