I am a newcomer to this forum, and any help will be greatly appreciated. Got our older 1993 Sea Doo SP running with a new wear ring and took it to the water. It ran "better than new" for about 15 minutes, then it just died (about 400 yds from shore! OUCH!)

We could not get it to start again. Checked her and found we had fuel but no spark . Trailered her home and hit the starter and it fired up and ran!?! So, we waited two or three days and took it to the water again, only to find that there is spark, but it is *very* weak.

The ONLY thing that I can imagine would have hurt something is when the craft initially quit on the water, the rear plug wire was loose on the plug and might not have been making contact. I know this isn't good for the CDI ignition system. And like I said, when it was running, it ran like a top.

Anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong? If anyone knows how to troubleshoot the coil and/or the ignition module (black box) any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

clean your ground wires real good, where it conects by the starter, also remove the plug caps at the end of the wires snip off about 1/4 inch of the plug wire and re screw the caps on to the wires, spray the inside of the cap with silicon to make it easier to screw on the plug cap, you don't have any big problem , also take a look at the lanyard cap and see if it allows the kill switch to make contact, swing the lanyard while the engine is runnung if it is a loose cap it will allow the engine to shut off even though it is still on the kill switch, another possibility is the start stop buttons un plug the stop button and see if the problem goes away, the switch could be shorting out.
