1993 Polaris SL 750 Burnt exhaust hose

I have an overheating problem with my Muffler(silencer) for my craft. You can fry an egg on it. It all started when the 2" rubber hose directly off the exhaust manifold burnt a hole in it. I replaced the hose but now the hose and muffler gets smokin hot. Seems like all cooling hoses are clear,Thermostat is good and pop off valve is working . I don't understand how the hose wouldn't burn up.Does the exhuast get that cool from running thru a cooled manafold? compression is good. Anyone have any suggestions?

for some reason the exhaust is not getting enough water injected in to it look for a plugged hose or fitting or an obstructed exhaust opening causing back preasure that is preventing the water from entering the system, remove the systen and check it carefully

So, if I take off the hose and muffler I should see water coming out with the exhaust?

from the picture hose 12 is the water supply to the exhaust regulator no 25 is probably the problem

I found the problem.<br />Number One <br />You can't find info on PWC's.<br />Number Two<br />Most people do not know that Water is blasted in to the exhaust/manifold pipe. I found this out by asking about a 100 people and know one knew. I had to figure this out by testing. This is a very important fact to know.<br />Because I know of people who have put water into the engine and did not know why. <br />So...I found out that there were weeds jammed into the water ports in the manifold. Cleaned these and I got a cool muffler(waterbox) again.<br />The term "Water box" was the answer to my searches.<br />Number three.<br />Please let people know this fact. NOT JUST MONEY MAKING PWC REPAIR SHOPS.
