1993 OMC Cobra Prop Shaft Oil Leak

Hi all. I'm pretty sure my seal is leaking oil. When I drained the oil from the outdrive there was water in it. It was due for a bellows replacement any way, but it seemed to be completely dry inside and the gimbal bearing was perfect so I don't think that's where the water got in. I noticed oil dripping from the prop shaft so I'm pretty sure that's my problem. I may pressure test to confirm.

To get to the point, my question is how difficult is it to change the prop shaft seals and o-ring? Can I do this with the drive on the boat?

Look at the manuals but I believe yes you can pull the carrier out and replace seals.

I think the manual just shows doing it with the lower unit off, but it doesn't say you have to do it this way. Looking at the parts diagram I can see why I wouldn't be able to do it on the boat.
