Hey guys, y'all probably seen me post about my motor several times in the last year, it's been nothing but a pain in the *** since I bought it. The current issue is this. The motor starts fine, idles perfectly, and shifts into forward and accelerates. But around 1/4 throttle, the motor starts to cough and it loses power and dies. Every now and then this doesn't happen, and once I get above this rpm, the motor runs flawlessly. WOT performance is great, and the motor has no issues whatsoever. I can only imagine it's carb or compression issues.
Thanks, Higgins.

It could be anything. Chances are the carburetor just needs to be cleaned correctly, but, it could be anything in the fuel system or ignition system or the powerhead. You have to breakout the service manual and start testing.
