Does anyone know if it is possible to remove the spark plugs in this boat without removing the exhaust manifolds. I was using a standard socket wrench with a standard spark plug socket and there wasn't enough room to get the wrench in. I was in a rush, so I just pulled the manifolds off. Just wondering for next time.
Thanks.

On some inboards you need to use a bit of finesse. Find a 3/8 spark plug socket that is very thin. ( sears) remove the rubber inside.
put socket on by hand. not 100% but around 25%. It very well may be at a slight angle. Then put the 4 or 6 inch extension part way into the socket. Then put the ratchet part way into the extension. now hold it because things are going to try to go sideways. slowly turn it and the freshly oiled previous greased plug will come out. Or better yet. I will change your plugs and you change mine in my 69 mustang with a big block in it and stock shock towers.

PS no law against making a socket thinner or shorter.

Take the base of the dog house out and you can change them with a pair of channel locks.

Use the box end of a 5/8 wrench and be patient . That's what I use anytime I change spark plugs on Indmar 351's . Only two plugs on that engine can be removed with a socket cylinders 1&8
