I have two batteries - a starter battery and a deep cycle that are in 3rd season. First year, no problems. Last year, torward the end of the summer, the batteries didn't have enough juice to turn engine over if left more than a week between starts. I resorted to starting our 9 hp kicker engine which is wired into the batteries for a little charge and after 15 minutes of idling would provide enough charge so that the 115 would fire up.

This year, same story. When boat was delivered to me, with fully charged batteries, the 115 fired right up. I used it successive days without any starting problems, and the voltmeter reads 14 volts while running. I have returned to use the boat every second weekend since the beginning of May, and everytime, it doesn't have enough juice to turn the engine over. So I run the kicker a few minutes, and then she'll fire right up.

My mechanic is puzzled, and since he checked all the wiring during the winter, feels that the batteries are bad and should be changed. Any thoughts out there before I go ahead and buy new batteries. Tx.
