I own a 1993 Four Winns equipped with a Ford 302 HO with multi port fuel injection and Cobra outdrive. Boat has been in storage for six years and was properly winterized. Before trying to start the engine I removed the little fuel it had in the tank and replaced the fuel filter. When I went to start the engine it only ran for about a minute and shut down. Thought I had bad fuel injectors because the boat sat in storage for such a long time. Had the injectors rebuilt. Engine will not start in the idle position but will if the throttle is almost wide open. Checked engine with scanner and came up with codes ( 23 & 53 ) for throttle position sensor. ( High voltage/ out of range ) Replaced TPS. No improvement. When the engine is running it sounds like it is running on all cylinders without misfiring so I don't think I have a ignition problem. What is strange is it seems that the engine is getting way too much fuel because of the large amount of white smoke coming from the exhaust. Other items I checked was engine compression, replaced spark plugs, checked ignition coil, thick film ignition module, MAP sensor, air charge sensor. All checked out OK. I read through a lot of old post but didn't find anything quite like this problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreacated.
