I have no experience with boats besides being a passenger. I think I want a little something. I live 15 minutes from Lake Michigan and only 5 minutes from the local launch.

Wondering what the general consensus on these?

From the pictures, it is in GREAT condition.
I know this isn't an engine forum, but it is a OMCobra EFI 5.0
I can start a new forum in the correct place if there are things I need to know about this engine.
Used "only a couple weeks during the summer." Older gentleman that took it out with grandkids when they visit. It is about 2.5 hours away and I'm willing to drive to check it out BUT... what should I be looking for? What questions should I be asking?

Based on what I already know.. it was in the water last year.

Is it typical to ask to get in the water with it to test drive? :ROFLMAO: That's what I want to do but not sure if that's normal.

Definitely, it’s a 30 year old boat. Looks nice in the pics but that can be hiding a lot. Nothing wrong with asking for a sea trial. If they say it’s not possible walk away.

Do a little reading on the OMC Cobra. They're not a bad drive, but OMC is out of business and parts might be a little tough to find here and there.

Also: do a little reading on the boat buyers checklist (link in my signature)

Welcome aboard.
