I have a 1992 yamha WR III 650. At top end it seems to bounce off the rev limitor this is how i can explain it best it just wha....wha ...Like its a car hitiing the revlimitor and shutting down for a split second constantly at wide open throttle. Is this normal. I am kinda new to the jet ski thing but i do undertand engines. I have rebuilt the carb as well.
Thanks in advance
Jerry

Re: 1992 WRIII

those had aluminum impellers and wear out easily check the clearance between the edge of the impeller and the liner if it is over 20 thousands replace the impeller with a stainless one, you are loosing a lot of top end speed with a bad impeller also

Re: 1992 WRIII

do you recomend anintake grate for more power as well? All i see when i look at theses intake grates is an open hole cant i just cut off the bars in the middle of mine an do the same thing? I have ordered a new impeller as well i started to tear down the back end unit and the bearings look wet an a lil rusty i guess ill replace those as well right along with the seals?
Thanks again
Jerry
