Just got it. Anyone else got one? This has a 5.7 alpha... so far I quite like it!

I have an older one. It's probably the same size by today's standards. I really like it except that its has an OMC outdrive. I love the seating, four seats and then a seat across the back, plenty of room. Also, the cabin is roomy, my kids (nine and six) and I often sleep on it. Two adults could be a little tight but my wife and weren't too cramped. Mine came with a porta-potty as well. The boat rides nice and has plenty of power (I have the 5.7 too). It's no hot rod but it does fine for me. Actually wish it would go faster, who doesn't! It cruises at about 25-28 MPH at 3000RPM and tops out at probably around 40MPH with just me on it, maybe a little faster. I need to get a GPS to check it. It does good on gas as long as you don't lay into the secondarys. Speedo seems to be runnin a little slow. Great family boat, you'll enjoy it for years.

Not the cuddy model (open bow), but the same size and year. 1992 240 BR.

Are you running the standard 14 x 19 or 14.5 x 17 props? Mine came with a quicksilver 1920 p23. The RPM's are low (3600) at 40 mph and has a slow hole shot.

Old post but I tried both; the 17" and 19" pitch in stainless Mirage props. Go for the 19". Because of the lifting strakes this hull will only go 40 mph (+/-). The 19" prop is perfect unless you're at full throttle. It has a great cruise, great hole-shot and almost unbelievable economy.
I tried a 21" first actually and it was way too much. The 23" pitch must be awful.

Congrads on your SR! I got an 85 250 cuddy and absolutely love it! Big and stable. My wife gets a kick out of me sittin in it sipping my drink and listening to the radio on its trailer in our yard. Also my good neighbor Jack is sick and tired of me light'n up his house with my Jabsco spot light. (he he)

Still out there srkelly?

I just picked up a 1988 250 FC, just about the exact same boat. What kind of performance do you get from yours? Mine has the 350/260hp Merc but I could only get the speedo to register about 25mph at 4200 rpm's. I have a 15 pitch prop in good shape.

Re: 1992 Sea Ray 240 Cuddy

I'm going to look at the 1998 240 overnight in 2-hrs , hope to bring her home tomorrow . it's has 7.4 Mer. (300p ph) only 65-hrs come with all covers , and toys the guy got 3-boats , this one is too small for him so I got a good deal
( so I hope ) 11k , with no trailer that an extra 2K , so total 13K .. what do you guy think? .. good deal?

But by the time I read any reply It's may be to Late. (cuz I want a boat so badddddd and now.) but would love to hear some input.

Thanks
