Hey Lady's gents, Captains ETC.

I had a issue a year ago which i lost power on the 1992 Merc 3.0 inboard! it turned out to be a busted head gasket, well that was changed and now i have oil on the manifold by the valve cover, I removed the valve cover and installed new gasket and i still have the leak, i really dont know where its coming from! can it be coming from the head gasket? this is puzzleing, i have full compression on all cylinders so where is the oil leaking from? any help will be greatly appreciated.....

You will need to clean it up & keep a close eye on it.....
The valve cover gasket is still the culprit....
Is the cover bent at the bolt holes?...
Over torquing the bolts will make it leak, the value is inch pounds, not foot pounds...;)
It isn't the head gasket......;)

Hard to say without seeing the old one, worth a shot......
If the bolt holes are smooshed, it is probably the culprit...
However, I would still try to locate the leak before I threw parts at it....:)

Does any one have the item number for a valve cover or is it call a block cover for the 1992 3.0 mercruiser?

Ayuh,... Valve covers rarely go Bad,... But if you Really want a New 1,... Call Mercruiser....

Oil leaks aren't all that hard to Find,+ are usually pretty Easy to fix...
The process starts with cleaning up most of the leaked oil,...
Run the motor,...
Then,...
LOOK to see exactly Where it's leaking...
Oil,.. Like water flows Downhill...
Fresh leaked oil is shiney,... old leaked oil ain't....
So,...
Look Up to the top of the oil leak, where the shineyest newest oil is,+ the Leak is Just above there....
or is it call a block cover
No,... Those are down on the side of the block on the starboard-side....

Ayuh,... My WAGuess is,...
When the motor was Beaten hard enough to cause the Headgasket Issue,...
It also burnt up the Rings....
Now it's Blowin' Oil out the crankcase Vent.....
