Hi guys, looking for advice. I got this motor with first cylinder melted down, and so rebuilt it last year. After that we put about 200 hours on it mostly at WOP. Ever since the rebuild, the flywheel side or right at flywheel is making a steady mid to mid-high frequency noise, which gets louder with increased RPMs. No matter if it's in gear or not. It is not a ticking or banning noise. Just a steady "rubbing" type of noise. Any suggestions on what it can be? All cylinders are firing and fuel mixture looks good, just slightly rich at idle. Thanks!

Also, it might be worth mentioning that I do not see any metal shavings or powder when inspecting cylinders.

Could an over-torqued flywheel cause this issue? Or would it just be the upper crankshaft bearing failing?

Last weekend, the steady noise added a clicking sound to it. Turned out the flywheel is moving sideways just enough to be able to feel it. Upper crank bearing is most likely shot.

Minnesota winter project is ON!
