it's off a 92' chris craft 5.8L (266HP?), i've looked online and saw that there are 3 differant model numbers. are the parts like bearings interchangeable between the 3? i tried finding a model number on the stearndrive it self but couldn't find/have no idea where to look. inside the the engine compartment i found this, OMC Drive System model #987119 serial #T00311289

there's actually six, but the first two aren't yours because they're LH rotating prop setups of a twin engine boat.
584APLAMH 1992
584APLAMK 1992
584APRAMH 1992
584APRAMK 1992
584DPEAMH 1992
584DPEAMK 1992

this will help you decipher which is yours
OMC Model Guide 1986-1993

for maintenance items, just check under all 4 models at shop.evinrude.com and you'll probably find there's no difference - all use the same stuff for the most part

I'm not sure that would be right. of the 6 models, 4 are dog-clutch models and 2 are cone-clutch.

584DPEAMH 1992 & 584DPEAMK 1992 are cones's...............

There's a significant difference between those......

Posting your engine model number (located on the engine) might shed more light on the situation. It also might be a 1991 model (which make it a dog-clutch too.....)

Post a pic of the drive and water pickup area.
