I put my 1992 Johnson Tracker 60 HP away for the winter after fogging and lower unit service, it was running great. I got it out last weekend replaced the charged batteries and added some fresh premix. It rolls over just fine but no spark at the plugs. I was reading some of the CDI troubleshooting online tips but I am confused about wiring to test.
i ordered a real Johnson/Eninrude service manual but in the mean time can anyone help me out finding the kill wire it is suppose to be black with a yellow stripe. I want to isolate the boat wiring (kill sw and ignition sw) and see if the issue is the motor or the boat wiring.
I snapped a few pix to see if you can help me out in finding the kill switch wire

Remove the cover over the terminal board on the starboard side above the relays. There should be a yellow wire with a black tracer going to the power pack, disconnect that wire for your testing.

Follow the wires coming out of the power pack till you find a connector. Take the black/yellow wire out of it and put the connector back together.

Thank you both for the information!!!

I am hoping to get my Factory service manual today or tomorrow but just to be clear when you refer to the "powerpack" is that the black molded unit below the terminal strip or the finned silver unit?

I saw a yellow wire on the terminals but the stripe looked grey not black and I was unsure as the instructions I had seen stated the wire I wanted was Black with yellow stripe. I am just trying to be sure I understand the instructions before attempting any troubleshooting. The motor has always ran like a swiss watch (after removing the oil injection with its false alarms at low speed) so I do not want to introduce any other new issues by not understanding the simple troubleshooting process.

Thanks again!!

Thanks Boobie,
I just about 2 minutes ago looked it up on a parts schematic and felt like a dolt that I did not think of it sooner.
When I get home I will take a look for the Bl/Yel wire, it must be buried under the pack because I had not been able to find it just looking and pulling the harnesses around to try and find it.

Thank you again, I do value the input.....
