I recently pulled the air silencer off of my motor and
noticed a hole in the air silencer that doesn't look "stock". It appears the previous owner modified it,
however it appears to run pretty well as is.
The hole may be stock, if so it appeas to have been
enlarged (for better air flow I pressume). The hole in question is directly across from the stock hole for the
needle valve (mixture adjustment screw). So on the
opposite side of the air silencer. It does not appear in
any diagrams I have ever seen including this one (the
hole appears just to the right of #41 in the diagram)

Is there supposed to be a hole there, or as anyone
seen this modification before? Could it hurt
performance of the engine?
