I need to replace the T-stat seals on my motor. the old ones were O-rings, the new ones I ordered are flat and are totally different, perhaps they were improved for the better. I attached photos of them. My 4 questions are :
1. has anyone changed these and used the new style as they are a tad bit thicker and had any problems.
2.The new seal is tapered on one side, I would imagine that is for the T-stat to seat on it properly.
3. What is the best sealant to use to seal the head to the block as there is no gasket just O-rings.
4. Is there a seal that goes on the lower water journal. I did not see one when I took it apart.
