My 1992 90 hp inboard force jet boat shelled out the flywheel magnets! I bought used flywheel off e-bay, now motor is kicking back aginst the starter, wont start. I compared flywheel to flywheel and all looks same even same part #. Could the timing be off some how? Flywheel Key is in good shape. It dose try to hit and at times it back fire. Need help any idea ?

Remove the plugs and do a compression test.
Turn the flywheels upside down and see if the timer at the flywheel key is the same as the old.

Bad fuel pump diaphragm? I may be mistaken, but I believe the fuel pump is driven off the intake pulses from #3 cylinder. If the fuel pump diaphragm gets a hole in it, or is torn, it dumps gas into #3 cylinder through a vacuum line that runs from a 90 degree fitting on the by-pass passage on #3 cylinder to the fuel pump.
