1992 70 hp Evinrude fuel consumption

Does anyone have any idea how much fuel per hour this engine should burn? It seems to use 3-4 gal/hour at moderate RPMs. I just want to know if this is reasonable. Thanks.

Howdy Sunbird. It really depends a lot on the boat. Your 3-4 gph sounds pretty good for a 16-18' planing hull of around 1500lb running at cruise (around 3500 to 4500rpm).<br /><br />On a 15' semi-v of 700lb it's too much, and on a pontoon or deck boat of 18-20' it's really great.<br /><br />Bon voyage.<br />JB
