I just bought a 1992 Stratos with a 200HP Johnson. My question is, how much water should I get from the tell tale while just on muffs? I know muffs can be misleading. I get anywhere from a drip to an almost steady stream as I increase the throttle. Seems like a lot of water is coming out right around the front side of where the water pump is, but could be normal I guess? Thanks guys.

The water coming out by the front side of the water pump is normal. On these v-6 loopers it sometimes takes a little time for water to come out of the pisser as the block has to fill up first.

At idle, my engine gets a good hard steady stream, and pumps about 10 psi pressure. At WOT, the pressure is 30 psi.
dripping at idle, You have a problem that needs fixing.

A good hardy stream with just muffs or in the water?

Oh...I do not run mine on muffs. I have had problems with the muffs introducing air, and making a large bubble in the top of the block.
So, this pressure is in a tank or on the water.

CWD, is this when you first start it or after it's been running for awhile??

Longest I've ran it at a time so far is maybe 2mins, 3 at best. All I've ran it on so far is with muffs, taking her to the lake tomorrow to see what she does in the water. Replaced the impaler today, old one was fine though. After running for just a minute though, the engine doesn't feel terribly hot. I mean it's hot, but not like an instant burn, can keep my hand on it a few seconds or so.

Let us know what happens after you take it to the lake.
