1992 20 hp head bolt torque specs

i m freshining up motor and i do not have a service manual i am concerned about the head bolt torque specs all others are common sense being it aluminum but what about the head bolts and exhaust cover???? i do not want to blow a new head gasket any help would be appreciated

For a 1993 20Hp, the TEN head screws should be tightened to 216-240 INCH pounds. I would guess for a '92 it would be the same. Get the OEM manual and double check these numbers so you do not strip out your aluminum. Again, I referenced inch pounds...NOT foot pounds. Start torquing in the middle of the head and evenly working outward.
