1991 waverunner III 650 turns over, no spark won't start-- Want to fix for the 4th!!!

I have a 1991 waverunner III 650. The jet ski will turn over, and sometimes kick like it is about to start, but it will not start. We were at the lake on memorial day, and we had driven the ski all day with no problems, and then when we were about to come in for the day the jet ski just slowed down and cut off. We tried to get it started again and sprayed starter fluid in the carb, and it started up, but we had to hold the throttle down all the way to get it back to the boat ramp, and it was going very slow, like it was bogged down, and when we got back it wouldn't start back up. Now, it only turns over, and won't start. We took the spark plugs out to see if they were getting spark, and they weren't, when we took them out, they also looked a little wet, (maybe gas, oil water???) The fuel filter is fine, it is passing gas through it. We did flip the ski over last year, and it was upside down for a while, but it ran fine several times last year after that. Does anyone know what we can try to do to fix this without taking it to the shop. I want to have it ready to run by the 4th, we always go to the lake on the 4th, and we don't want to miss it this year!! Please Help!!!

try unplugging the kill switch on the handle bars and see if it grts spark,, those get water inside them and short out the ignition,, if it sparks whit the kill switch unplugged, either disassemble the switch and clean it or replace it.

Which one is the kill switch, the red button, or the piece that the key goes under? And where do you unplug it at?

Probably got wet either electric box or the stator.May dry out on its own.Also you may want to pull off the plug boots and trim back like a half inch and reinstall.Notorious for corroding and producing weak spark. FYI dont EVER use ether base starting fluid on a ski or any 2stroke motor for that matter.It will literally 'clean' the thin layer of oil fro,m your piston walls causing added friction heat and ultimately premature failure of the top end.ALWAYS prime with premix.
