1991 Spectrum 1606 - no rating plate! :(

Hey all!
Just wondering if anyone can help me determine the ratings for the boat I just bought...1991 Spectrum 1606 16' aluminum fishing boat...I understand the rating plate is supposed to be somewhere on the rear on either side of the engine...but nothing! It has a 50hp merc and it seems under-powered for the boat and I was hoping to upgrade and increase the hp.

Rating plate could almost be anywhere, it just has to be viewable in the open somewhere. On my lund its on top of the steering councel. Almost every single 16' spectrum I've seen has a 50hp hanging on the back (usually a Force) but the 1606 specs are very close to my lund pike 16 which has a 75hp rating.

I had a 1995 Spectrum avenger, 16-6 single console, welded hull model, rated for 75.

i have an 89 1702 center console. no plate either. had a 50 force, i put a 1988 88spl on it. it is a little over powered. 75 0r 80 would work really nice.
