Looking at possibly purchasing a boat this summer if budget allows. Came across a Chaparral which I posed on here a few weeks ago and had some good input from you folks; now came across this Sea Ray as well. Doing the same with this Sea Ray as I did with the Chap, looking for some input from everyone about it. I know the Sea Ray's aren't as high end as the Chap's but I'm not looking for luxury, just a good solid reliable boat/brand that can get me on the water and have some good times with; yet at the same time, I don't want a hunk.

Thanks in advance everyone.

That seems like a ton of money for a 22 year old generic bowrider.

When looking at older boats condition is more important than manufacturer. Whatever advice was given on your previous thread will apply to this boat as well. You have to satisfy yourself that the boat you're looking at suits your needs, and is in good condition. No older boat will be perfect. Keep some money back to pay the bills that will surely come :(

I bought that very same boat two years ago and absolutly love it. I had to do some...maybe a lot...of work to mine to get it up to par but I am sure glad I did. I paid $3000 but this one looks to be in better shape than mine was when I bought it. The hull is very solid heavy fiberglass and plenty beefy for additional or repair glass work. The 4.3 will push it to 47 mph gps speed with a good 21 in ss prop. I spent the day on mine today and had a ball! No regrets here. That boat handles great and will run. I will be keeping mine!

going to look at it today, i'll check for soft spots and how clean/maintained it is and get back to everyone. no water test today though unless it's a spur of the moment thing. any other things you suggest looking for or paying attention to? I'll crawl under and check bellows as well.
