Hey Guys,

Im looking at a 1991 Sea Ray 180 bowrider with a 135 hp Mercury Blackmax outboard. Went and looked at it last night and the interior is in perfect shape (original), the hull and gel coat is in great shape, it has the full swim deck, removable ski pole, removable wake board boom, and the engine starts and runs really good. It sits on a 2005 Shorelandr dual axle trailer with brakes. It really looks almost new and he will take 4,500. Is this a good deal? Is there anything I should look for? Are there any issues historically with this boat/motor? Thanks for you help.

Kinda depends on the market where you live. Here that price would probably be high for that old of a boat. More like $3000. However if other similar boats are selling for that kind of money in your area it may be a fair price. I do love that vintage of SR with the 135 outboard. Nice boat. Check CAREFULLY for rot. You want a solid deck and transom. ANY soft spots in the deck could be indicative of more serious issues with the underlying structure.
