Here we go.... I bought this motor and think I made a mistake. It will start and Idle fine. When I give it the gas she bogs bad and no rev at all. My buddy has a motor that runs but won't sell it but he let me swap parts. I changed everything electrical and carb. SAME THING. Only thing I have not changed was the trigger. Do you think this is it. Compression is good. Any input is grateful Thank you

Make sure the timing is advancing. Other than that the problem could be anything. You need to determine if it's fuel, ignition or mechanical. With the (lack of) information you've given it's just too hard to diagnose.

It could be something as simple as the prop being too big, or as complex as a broken or hanging reed.

Chris ,,
thanks for your response. I don't think it is fuel all new in new can. Prop is stock. Did not check the reeds. But if it had a wire it was changed with known good one. But did not change trigger. I am a novice at this....As for the timing....would you give me a little insight on what to look for. By the way it is a 91 9.9

Thanks

IF ONLY THIS WAS A SMALL BLOCK CHEVY..........THEN I WOULD KNOW WHAT TO DO
