just opened my cowl . took these pics. i have noticed a few wires. can anyone tell what is going on here.? am i to assume that i will need to take the cover off the side to expose the wire blocks to trace it all ? new to the outboard scene, i worked on i/o and could trace wires no problems . this seems like its more complicated to get into it. thanks in advance

Except for that plastic fuel line, and the old attempt to tap into the PTT wires, it looks OK.

Clear plastic fuel line, usually fails pretty quickly, depending on what it is made of.

Those blue splice devices, weaken the wire and allow corrosion under the insulation. You can get Y shaped bullet connections, if you need them.

You might check the unconnected wire near the in-line fuse. It is likely for a temp overheat or gauge. You will want to have the overheat warning working.

yes it runs, spits water out the tell tale and the prop. had it going in my driveway. you want to hear it? i can take a video of it if you want?
I think racer would rather see compression numbers on those cylinders than a video at this moment since it is a new to you motor that hasn't been lake tested by you.

Marine motors all sound great when they are not under load.

New to you motors need a new water pump impeller.----It is always scary when wiring is molested like that.----You do understand that this motor idles on top 2 cylinders.----Bottom 2 carburetors kick in at about 1800 RPM.----Compression test is #1 step in trouble shooting and for future reference.----Post the numbers here.
