What is the timing advance for a 1991 Mercruiser 4.3 V6 (serial 0D427058)?

Also, does it have a thunderboldt V ignition, and are there any insights into setting the timing for this engine?

It's the thunderbolt IV not V ignition. Nothing special on timing. Just loosen distributor and turn until you get the right degrees at idle rpm.

Excellent!!! exactly what I was looking for, I set the timing to 8* and she runs like a charm! This is the best motor I have ever owned, 20 years on a set of plugs, wires, cap rotor and coil!
