I got this 1991 Merc 25, it came with the shift and throttle Morse control lever but the wiring harness leading from the outboard to I'm assuming the old key switch control unit was cut off.... It has serial number 0D073154 comes up as model number 1025312LD.
It has electric and pull start, everything is looking good on it so far and I'm about to give it a go.
My question is, do I need to hook up any of that harness to be able to start and stop it? It's clear which leads are for a battery but the rest I don't know. And how would I shut it off? There's no separate start/stop switch or lever right at the unit. If I pull start it as is, will the ignition be energized? And if so then like I said, what is the right way to kill it?
I can post pictures if that would help. Many thanks for any advice.
