1991 Johnson Tracker 40hp controls

Hello,

I have a question about my Johnson. I need direction to find controls for this motor. I need the whole kit. Guy at shop told me I need a key start too?? There is an electric fuel pump and start. I had a 9 pin square connector that comes out of the engine with separate pos/neg wires. I need the whole setup.

Go to the top of this forum in the top secret files and look for salvage yards.

You can use any "pre 1996" OMC control for it. Usually available used on ebay, craigslist, etc. New aftermarket units that will work are availabe here on Iboats. The cable with the 9 pin connector should have the standard "big red plug" at the engine end. I beleive the wires in that cable are color coded the same as any OMC cable, and can be connected to an ignition switch, kill switch and warning horn following the original color code.
Someone on here may be able to post the wiring diagram for you.
The throttle and shift cables are standard OMC type also.
