i am running a johnson gt 150. when i hook the muffs up to it and let it run its fine and when i get on it a lil bit a constant tone buzzer comes on. I can turn it off and fire it right back up and it will not make a sound untill i rev it baack up but it is peeing fine and getting plenty of oil. I can take the cowl off and touch the heads and they are not hot just a lil warm but you can leave your hand on them and not get hurt. can some one please give me suggestions haha

OMC made two types of 150's in 1991. The crossflow and the new 60 degree looper. Pls post your model number. Both engines should have a vacuum switch which monitors the fuel vacuum. A high reading can also prompt a constant warning horn-meaning the engine may be running lean. Best to determine just what is causing the warning before you run the engine.

I wouldn't take it off just because someone told you to. You can validate/test whether it is functioning correctly. If it is, it's a valuable asset to you as an owner. More likely you will get a constant horn if it is low on oil or the fuel system has abnormally high fuel line vacuum.
