I need to know what i can do to make this motor go faster. I was told to put some different carbs. on it and it would be like a 150 or something like that. What can i do i am open to suggestion. I have it on a 17ft Eagle SST. Its like a little ciggerette boat with a wing on it.

GT 100 what? What year? Not enough data, Doug. In this case it doesn't matter much.

Hopping up any 2 stroke, especially outboards, is for seasoned engineer racers with huge budgets. Don't bother. The returns aren't worth the money or the risk.

To get the most from what you have, optimize your prop, clean and wax your hull, add a hydrofoil and maybe trim tabs and get expert at fine tuning the trim.

Use only fresh, 87 octane, unleaded, alcohol-free regular petrol, in a 50:1 mix with Wal-Mart Super Tech TCW3 oil, or Quicksilver (which isn't any better, it just costs a lot more). Yeah, I guessed you were using premium gas. Don't. It is loaded with stuff that causes deposits in 2 strokes.

Good luck.
Red sky at night. . . .
JB

its a 1991 and has 100 hours on it. I was told the guy before me had the other carbs and it ran 10 mph faster on water. thats what someone else told me the difference was in the 100 and the next one up. I use 89 octane with castrol gtx tcw-3 outboard oil becuase i love the smell. the hull has been waxed the motor has power trim and im thinking about gettin a fin for the lower unit. Boat runs around 50 or so now i guess. I need to work on the prop i know, it turns too many rpms now.
thanks

doug
