Have good compression, 150+ psi on both cylinders. Carbs have been cleaned and new carb kit put in. VRO2 deleted and now is only being utilized as fuel pump for mixed fuel. See video links below. Boat will idle and rev us intermittently but will not run at WOT. Thinking I am down to timing but not sure how to do this, and the things I have read on timing are not clear.

Any and all ideas are welcome! :)

Once it dies it is very hard to start again. I am thinking the VRO may not be working right and I may need a dedicated fuel pump?

You arent going to get a whole lot done in the bucket.

1. Open air gap spark check. Report back.

2. Fuel sample into clear container. Report back.

3. Verify that when throttle is in neutral both butterflies are closed.

4. Verify that when throttle is applied that buterflies beginnto opennto gether and go completly open.

5. Verify that throttle cam and roller are not touching in neutral wuth no throttle.

6. Verify that as throttle is applied cam picks up roller at mark.

Now you should be able to get it to idle in the bucket. If so, time to go to the lake and do some things under load.

A.manual from factory would make all this much easier.

Do you have a timing light?
