Just a quick question here.<br /><br />'91 Evinrude 200 XP vro. Runs great at all rpms execept, just past neutral(no wake, leaving boat ramp,etc..)Sometimes it dies, other times it's fine.Give it alittle gas and it's fine. Just curious if maybe it needs a tune-up.<br /><br /> Bought at the onset of winter in 2002.1991 Stratos S/F. Boat is on a single axle trailer.(Like to have a tandam)<br /><br /> Quick note:These boats have a low transom because of the swim platform on the back.(Easy for swimmers to get in and out)With 3 batteries,35-40 gallons of gas,200hp outboard, boat is heavy in rear.Watch your wake when you come out of plane or bilge will start filling with wash over.(put in a extra bilge with automatic float)Just a quick note all.<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Tom

yup probably needs a tune. Make sure they check the sync and link. Try to find a place that sets the carbs in a test tank or lake if possible, youll be happier with the idle (and off idle ) quality.

I would remove the wires from the ign. coils (one coil at a time) and check to see if one of the coils ohms differently than any others. May be a faulty coil.
