I just bought a 1991 Bayliner Capri, Force 150 HP. The boat is missing the L-Drive. I paid only $700 and the engine seems to work OK. Any tips on this part and how much should I expect to pay for it?. I live in Denver, Colorado.
Thanks,
Victor

Ah, the dreaded L drive. My friend, the best solution to your problem is to part out that boat and get a good one WITHOUT an L drive. They were a pretty experimental unit that never worked out the way they were supposed to. Parts are almost non-existant, somebody who knows how to work on one harder to find. Sorry to burst your bubble but it is just not worth the time, effort, expense and headaches to do a replacement. Not saying it can't be done - I just wouldn't want to. :(
P.S. Why don't you take that question here:http://baylinerownersclub.org/forum/
You will certainly find your answer - whether you want to hear it or not.

Near your throttle will be an information plate. It will show you max h.p., max allowed weight, etc. If not right there very close by.

I don't understand something in your info. The L-drive to my knowledge only came in hp up to 120hp I think, so what is with the 150hp reference? Do you have an outboard set-up? Or does it appear to have a semi-concealed vertical transom hole where an i/o type set-up would go? How would/do you run the motor with the lower drive missing? How could it pump water, etc? I'm a little confused as to what you have.
Maybe post a few pics.
