I was out on the water over the week-end and all of a sudden a loud high pitch beep came from under the dash behind the guages. It lasted about 1 minute. Does anyone know what this means?

I believe that buzz is to warn you that your engine is overheating.

So, once the buzzer stopped after the 60 seconds does this mean the motor cooled down again? Or did I hurt the motor by running for another 45 minutes once the buzzer stopped?

Not sure maybe something was blocking it for a minute, but you can do a compression test which is rather simple to see if any damage was done.

you should test the buzzer to make sure it still works, and didn't just die after going off for that brief moment. you can short out the lead from the temp sensor, mine is an orange wire, and make sure your buzzer still works, just to be safe
