New to the forum, but have fixed other issues by reading just as a guest. This issue tho is a little more complex than the last problem. I purchased the boat in april, and it ran ok but one of the coil packs was cracked and would miss fire. So while i was at it i replaced all 3 coil packs, all three plug wires, plugs, and rebuilt all three carbs. Boat ran 100 times better, but i noticed when i would start the boat while on the hose in the drive way, that you could hear one cylinder fire and run, then the others would kick in and run fine. Its been like this for a month and half and no troubles cranking. It didnt bother me at the time because it would run great, well yesterday cranked it on the hose, did the normal 1-2 cylinder cut in thing, all 3 kicked in and ran smoothe. So i took the boat out and launched it. Ran fine and strong, when i stopped the boat at a restuarant and then came back 45minutes-hour later tried cranking, and nothing, Kept flooding. Then went to check spark and there is no spark on any of the cylinders, so i was dead in the water and had to be towed in. What could be causing this problem? First instinct is the power pack. Let me know what you all think it is before i go part swapping. Thanks!

Before you spend time and money chasing a problem, go to the CDI website and look up your engine. Use their troubleshooting guide to help you find your problem, might save you some time and money.

Got to playing around with it. Disconnected the power pack. Cleaned contacts. Pulled the wire connector for the harness apart. Had corrosion. Cleaned it. Then I read where the rectifier could cause problems. I removed completely and with the first turn of the key she fired up immediately all cylinders. Looks like I'll be ordering a $30 rectifier instead of a $100 power pack.
