I have a 91 3.0 with cracked block. I have found a rotten 87 Sunbird with good running engine (I believe its a Merc 140)and outdrive that I am considering purchasing for the engine. Will the 87 engine carry the same amount of HP as the 91? Any other major considerations to take into account? Any help is greatly appreciated. We just learned that another child is on the way so a new engine is out of the question. I am lucky just to be able to keep the boat!
