1991 250 wont trim up when under power?

the header says it all! my V8 wont trim up when WOT. it will trim up on the trailer or when sitting still. it's not making any funny noises or going slower then normal. at WOT it will trim up about 25% then stop. any ideas? thanks...james

depending on which unit you have conventional or fas trac they have different ranges of operation<br />fas trac<br /> 0 to 21 degrees is the trim range<br /> 22 to 75 degrees is tilt<br />if engine exceeds idle rpm while operating in shallow water drive mode, motor will tilt down to the top of trim range<br />-<br />conventional<br /> 0 to 15 degrees is trim<br /> 16 to 65 degrees is tilt<br /> book also says that you can run past the intial 15 for shallow driving but anything above 1500rpm<br />will lower motor to the fully trimmed out range. any attempt to tilt motor while operating above 1500rpm will have no effect.<br />-<br />hope that answers your question.
