Good afternoon everyone, my 1990 200 has overall been a great motor. Few issues here and there that I’m usually able to fix. Last few trips out I realized that my batteries were not charging. Upon further inspection of my rectifier I noticed the red wire at the connector broke. So I planned on getting her ready for the weekends bluefish tournament. New plugs, lower unit pressure test and new lube and just going over everything. Since I couldn’t see anything wrong with the rectifier I just hardwired they red wire. Then I couldn’t get her to start at all. It would just crank. Hooked up an in-line spark tester and nothing. Could a bad rectifier cause this. I’m not good with the electrical side. My manual shows some testing procedures that I don’t fully understand.
