When installing a new battery for the season I connected the + to the - by accident (brain cramp) and touched the - to the + momentarily. No power, looked in electrical box and found a blown fuse. Replaced it but still no power on display or starter etc. etc... Any ideas; could I have popped something electrical??? I saw another comment that said put a screw-driver across the posts of the coil to see if there is enough juice there (appear to have 12.7v at the coil). Will the display light up even if issues with coil or other???

Any ideas anyone?

I've seen it cause the starter solenoid to jam or actually fry it, but that would not account for the display not lighting. You can jump the starter solenoid to see if it will start that way.

Turns out it was the Sol. jammed in mid position; when I was tracing the power the meter re-set (clicked) the coil and bingo; all good so far. Thanks.
