1990 Suzuki DT40

The shift linkage from the bottom of the powerhead to the transmission came undone at the powerhead when we droped the lower unit. Any suggestions on how to re-attach it without removing the powerhead?

You get to it by removeing the carb and the oil pump. If the plastic connector is broken you need to slide out the shift handle to replace it. It's a little tricky but easier done than said.
