1990 Stingray 5.7 350 Yamaha Sterndrive tinking noise from rear of engine...

Hello I have a 1990 Stingray 19 footer with a 350 And a yammie sterndrive. Everything works great, but there is a clicking/tinking noise comming from the rear of the engine/u joint area. I have removed the outdrive, and the gimbal bearing and u joints are in perfect shape. Its not to loud but seems to be comming from inside the u joint bollows some where. Any idea? Any help woube be great! Thanks!

Ayuh,... My guess is the rubber is burnt off the shutters, 'n they're rattlin',...

What exactly are the shutters?... are they hard to change?

Ok iv looked them up.... there in the exhaust. whats the best way to find/ chek them?

Ayuh,.... If they're like a Merc,... Pull the elbow, just above the y-pipe...
On a Merc, they're at the top of the y-pipe...
