Hello All,
I'm about to swap a 1990 4.3 V6 OMC Cobra (missing outdrive) with a 1986 4.3 V6 Mercruiser 205 HP Alpha (complete gimbal and motor swap). Neither boat has an outdrive, but I have a good Alpha 1 gen 1 that should work. What problems might I run into? I'm 99% sure both engines are mechanical fuel pumps. I'm not sure about anything in between the gimbal housings and motors. Also wondering if motor mounts will need changing?

Outdrive ratio is that drive from a v6 or other engine ? Would inspect the exhaust manifold end elbow condition while u have it out replace as needed

would check the coupler bellows gumbal
bearing and u joints while you have it apart

since your bolting in a mercruiser, you need to remove all the OMC stuff.

your gen 1 driver should be a 1.84 or 1.62 ratio for the V6

Do you have a serial number for your Alpha One drive?

Outdrive is 0B563758 (I think - the number is really hard to read)
I'm not sure if its out of a v6 or v8. Bad news is I need a transom.
Any fiberglass pros in the mid-atlantic area need a project?
