Hey folks,

Kinda new to the site and I have been doing a ton of reading on my alarm issue. Here is what is going on.

If I turn my key on the alarm is a solid beep and won't stop.

I have disconnected the temp sensor (tan/blue) and still have the beep.

I have disconnected the two blue wires from the oil tank. Same problem

If I disconnect the tan/blue wire from the ground on the motor the beep will stop.

I have ran my boat for the last 2 years with out any issues with the alarm not hooked up but I really want it hooked up invade of a fault.

I'm wondering if there is a ground wire that goes from the motor sensors to the control box that acts as a ground to complete the circuit?

Or if anyone knows what else I can check this would be great.

What is the s/n of your engine as there are 3/4 cylinder models, with and without warning module etc.

Re: 1990 merc 100hp Alarm

That s/n comes up as:

MERCURY - (100 H.P. (1995 ))
Serial No: 0G177907 Model No: 1100412RD

Parts list for model 1100412RD:

100/115/125 H.P. 80 JET (4 CYLINDER) - Mercury, Mercruiser, Force, etc. Parts Lookup

As this s/n is a 1995, you can discount the information in post #2 as that was for a 1990.

The service manual you require is P/N: 90-830234. If you do not have this manual, see my message to you in Notifications at the top of this page.

If you do have the manual see the testing starting in Section 3C, page 10. you will also see the warning module there to let you know whether you have one or not.
